The practice of Tantra is a profound cultivation of awareness. The awareness we strive to develop is prompted by technique and control. Intimate Tantric “sessions”, with a trained practitioner or with a loved one, are valuable learning spaces. And, non-intimate “sessions” are just as valuable – if not even more so sometimes. To begin our quest we must tune our bodies so that they integrate with our practice and allow us to freely move from one level of exploration to another.
The Tantra & Tea Ceremony session is a leisurely experience held in a relaxing environment in which we review techniques for concentration, strengthening, breathing, meditation, and other learning tools appropriate for you specifically. Focusing on a technique specific to your experience will help you achieve a space in an intimate practice that is fruitful and progressive.
As in the original Tantra session I assess your body type and give you tips for balancing out the imbalances that hold you back. This is also a wonderful opportunity to bring a partner as there is no pressure whatsoever on performance or intimate interaction. A welcoming space holding open discussion and learning is the goal in this session.
Body Balance
At a young age our bodies may be perfectly tuned, and we can all recall saying “When I was younger I never had issues with this… before”. As we age, our bodies create imbalances, and in conjunction may generate a psychological strain – these issues may haunt us for all our lives.
If our bodies were once tuned and our minds once calm, there’s no reason why we should not experience that peace of mind and ease now. Balancing out your specific body type is something Tantra helps with greatly. This return to homeostasis may be much more simple than it first appears, and usually great strides are accomplished in a short amount of time.
Meditation
The lofty heights of yoga are the fruits of patient practice. While even the beginning stage of ones’ practice is profoundly fulfilling; an organized approach to meditation makes it easier to quiet the mind day after day, moment after moment. When this is accomplished reaching the same deep levels of meditation every day is simple.
In Tantra we work with many meditation techniques, but I specialize in a form of partner meditation that can take you to deep levels of awareness quickly. This style of meditation is easy, yet dynamic and fun.
