Change our relationship to Sex

January 9, 2015 by Olivia Jade

My sessions focus on sexual healing, releasing, opening and clearing energy blockages stemming from past trauma, emotional wounds, judgments, shame, powerlessness, and messages prompting low self-esteem. These blocks take the form of “hot spots” of tension stored in the body at various locations, often in the first or second Chakra area.

Both men and women carry these blockages and both benefit from being consciously touched with loving, accepting, nurturing energy.

By being present and providing loving touch, an opportunity is presented for the stored energy to shift, move, open, and release as a result of the intention for healing and integration held by the client. I gently steward our session and provide a safe and sacred container for such releases to occur.

So all these health and wellness places around town state they create a space for over all health and wellbeing… They have on site chiropractors, natropaths, beauty therapists, Chinese herbalists, nutrition specialists and so on yet from my perspective its not entirely true that they promote “overall health and well being”.

Where are the sexologists, sex therapists, sex educators, sex coaches, sexological body workers, tantra teachers etc within these spaces

Sexuality is one of the most important aspects of “overall health” yet it is clearly ignored and pushed into the shadows. My god i feel frustrated at this reality!

TO CHANGE THE WORLD WE NEED TO CHANGE OUR RELATIONSHIP TO SEX!!!

When society including “conscious holistic health care” continues to treat sexuality as something outside of the spectrum of health and happiness, then society is ignoring such an important aspect of our physical and mental well being! we all need to wake up and push for a major paradigm shift.

How uncomfortable does addressing authentic sex and intimacy make you? If it makes you uncomfortable or that you wouldn’t even consider sex and pleasure therapy as a part of a health center then you too also have some sexual shame that could be released from the professionals i mentioned above.

I believe its time for all these holistic health centers to make a change and show their clients what real overall health and well being looks like.

What Tantra Is and Is Not

October 22, 2014 by Olivia Jade

There is a heated conversation about tantra going on in the press, partly due to the unfolding drama within the Anusara community, and partly in response to the recent article by William J. Broad in the New York Times in which he makes the dubious claim that yoga began as a sex cult.

Yoga, tantric or otherwise, is a set of practices that help us expand our consciousness to connect with the universal intelligence and then to bring that experience into life so that we live in the world in a liberated state. While all yoga draws on the same sources, each school or lineage has its own set of practices and interpretations handed down from teacher to student in a very specific way, making it almost impossible for the modern yogi or scholar to tweeze out all of the influences let alone the specific provenance of the various practices. Some contemporary schools have been interested in creating yoga as an institution that can be branded, replicated globally, and sold for profit. But yoga, the real living practice, has always been more like an organism that grows organically and can only survive if it is grounded in the kind of relationship between teacher and student that fosters the direct transmission of what we call the shakti, or living energy, of this ancient wisdom tradition. Introduction Tantra Vancouver Canada

A Holistic Perspective on Sexuality

Using our sexuality as a vehicle for personal growth is a foreign concept to many. It is an art form that was once known to every indigenous culture on earth, but has sadly been displaced, lost, or stolen. Over time, humans have forgotten that our bodies are a divine gift that offers unlimited capacity for pleasure and healing. Our sexual expression represents one of the greatest mysteries known to humans ~ life itself. [Read more…] about Introduction Tantra Vancouver Canada
